Steve Aoki started making music while studying at the University of California in Santa Barbara.
He founded his own label Dim Mak Records back in 1996. Dim Mak has promoted various artists including MSTRKRFT, The Bloody Beetroots, The Chainsmokers, Bloc Party and others. Aoki released many remixes and featured songs, eg. with will.i.am, Drake or Kanye West, one remix album Pillowface and His Airplane Chronicles but the debut album Wonderland didn’t come out before 2012.
He later collaborated with Linkin Park and released the album Neon Future I in 2014. A year later, Neon Future II came out featuring guests like Snoop Lion or Rivers Cuomo. There is a documentary film I’ll sleep when I’m dead about Aoki’s life, career and music. The film was nominated for Grammy Award in 2016. Aoki is bringing to Prague his latest album Steve Aoki presents Kolony that includes guest stars like Migos, Lil Yachty or 2Chainz. He is also known for supporting numerous charities.
